Linda Mayer's assemblage boxes transport viewers into intricately crafted miniature worlds that embody a childlike sense of wonder. "I am inspired by being in the moment, observing the places and people around me," says Mayer. "When I’m painting or working on my assemblage boxes, I draw on the same sense of wonder in the ordinary that I felt at 4 or 5 years old. I think most artists feel this way, and our work is a way for others to see the world through our eyes."
