‘Architechton’

April 15th - June 3rd, 2023

'Architechton', meaning master builder, master craftsman, designer, or inventor, showcases the incredible talents of William Brouillard and Andrea LeBlond, two renowned ceramic artists with a passion for pushing the boundaries of traditional ceramic techniques. Their art pieces are stunning, captivating and unique, each one telling a different story.

The exhibition features works that reflects their working environment in a Rust Belt Metropolis, showcasing Brouillard’s affection for machine age technology and imagery, as well as the costs of its adoption. LeBlond's work, on the other hand, draws inspiration from cellular organisms, microscopic particles, as well as the geology of her environment.

The exhibition will showcase individual works by both artists as well as collaborative pieces. The collaborative pieces in this exhibition are a testament to the artists’ chemistry and their willingness to experiment and challenge themselves. Their works are thought-provoking and visually striking, showcasing their love for experimentation.

Many of the works in this exhibition resulted from ideas about metaphorical vessels that reference both utility and three dimensional structures found in architecture and nature. These new works speak to our complex interactions with technological and physiological change and its impact on our lives and spiritual values.

About The Artists

  • Andrea LeBlond

Drawing inspiration from cellular organisms, microscopic particles, and the geology of my environment, I welcome balance, symmetry, and precision into my pieces -- invoking the order and stillness that is found buried within life’s inevitable disarray.

  • William Brouillard

My current works are built on the foundations of my early work and are fueled by the desire to follow both old and new paths. I work in a variety of ceramic and other craft studio related materials but use the local industrial background of my Cleveland Studio as a source of images and subject matter.
