Form, movement, and the combination of colors are the guiding principles of my jewelry design practice. Unlike conventional considerations focused primarily on the status of materials, I prioritize the harmony between these elements to design and fabricate functional pieces that resonate with color and a tactile elegance that beg to be tried on and fully experienced.
In my studio, time is both a companion and a constraint. The evolution of each one-of-a-kindpiece unfolds organically, guided by a dialogue between materials and ideas and between me and my assistants. Developing unique creations alongside scheduled production pieces enriches our daily studio routine by providing us the gift of spontaneity and time to experiment freely. My journey as a jeweler has led me to accumulate a trove of treasures over the years, with each gemstone awaiting its moment to take center stage. This process is not to be hurried as it takes time to consider and reflect. Some stones linger in storage, patiently awaiting their time, while others find their perfect place with surprising ease. Over time, our studio has cultivated a vocabulary of hand applied textures and finishes using a collection of vintage metalworking tools found at auctions and antique fairs, which is a testament to the combination of experimentation and skilled craftsmanship that has been passed along from generation to generation. These signature elements weave through our collections and provide each piece our characteristic blend of modernist inspired design and expert construction. Ultimately, my aim is to create jewelry that transcends mere adornment, inviting the wearer into a world of tactile wonder and visual delight that engages not only the adorned but encourages conversation between the wearer and viewer, all the while accompanying the wearer throughout their own journey.
